Raleigh Broughton has no response to Farmville Central’s early red-hot shooting
The Farmville Central Jaguars bounced back from their first loss of the season in big-time fashion in a 81-65 win over the host Raleigh Broughton Capitals.
The Jaguars seniors Tyler Whitehurst and Hampton Evans couldn’t miss from the perimeter. Whitehurst drained 5 threes and finished with a team-high 20 points. Evans went 3-4 from deep to finish with 17 points in the win.
The Capitals just couldn’t get the shots to fall early but managed to find some offense in the second half. Junior forward Christian Outlaw was a force inside and led the team with 14 points. The young pair of freshman Jordan Page and sophomore Hudson Fitzgerald came out with solid performances with 11 and 12 points respectively.
Farmville will finish up their 2023 John Wall Holiday Invitational competition in the Devonte Graham bracket 5th place game on Saturday against the winner of Durham Jordan-Hillsborough Orange. Broughton will have one last chance to conclude their 2023 Holiday Invitational with a win at William Peace University on Saturday.
